Ángel Dacal Nieto, “Factory of the Future” Area Manager at CTAG, has recently participated in the workshop “Beyond Industry 4.0: Re-skilling the Labour Force & the Future of Agile Production” in the framework of the Robotics4EU initiative, where he presented the paper “Social Challenges in Human-Centric Factories and the Application of Industry 5.0 Technologies”.
Dr. Dacal Nieto is a Computer Science Engineer with a PhD in Intelligent Software Systems with over 16 years of experience in applying ICT in manufacturing, particularly automotive, and expertise in intelligent software, automation, AI, and robotics. He discussed the social challenges in human-centric factories and the application of Industry 5.0 technologies.
The workshop was chaired by Silvia Ecclesia, a PhD Candidate at the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture (KULT), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), who brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the event. Ladislav Dvorak, who joined the workshop as keynote speaker, too, brought his expertise from the automotive industry, specifically in the field of autonomous driving, and shared his insights about the future of agile production and its impact on various industries.
The “Beyond Industry 4.0: Re-skilling the Labour Force and the Future of Agile Production” workshop aimed to explore the future of agile production and its impact on various industries. With the help of robotics, agile production has the potential to transform the way that products are manufactured and meet the ever-changing demands of the market.
During the workshop, expert talks and open discussions were held to address important questions related to agile production. Around 50 attendees went to learn about the social implications of this shift, concerns about job displacement, and strategies for upskilling the workforce to embrace the opportunities presented by robotics.
